About Flavia Merola
More than 20 years of experience in the Intellectual Property sector, in the technical area of patents, Chemistry and Life Sciences, being responsible for activities related to prosecution, preparation of examination amendments, preparation of communications and compliance with requirements, manifestations in negative opinions and preparation of appeals; as well as technical and legal consulting in patent matters, including conducting prior art searches, drafting patent application reports, drafting technical opinions on patent invalidity, technical and legal analysis of infringement (Validity Opinion), freedom to market and patentability (FTO). Specialized in technical consulting related to patents and compliance with Brazilian legislation, in order to define the best strategy to be adopted in each case.

- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
- Postgraduate in Intellectual Property Law, PUC/Rio.
- MSc Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology – with emphasis on Technological Management, Faculty of Chemistry, UFRJ.
- Languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
